Devon County Council shortlisted for an award

Devon County Council has been shortlisted for the Most Proactive Local Authority category of the South West Green Energy Champion Awards. DCC was nominated due to its funding and support for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects including: RE4D, EnVision, Carbon reduction analysis as a DSEN partner, DCC Carbon Management programme and work on Devon County Council schools and other buildings.

Matthew Spencer, Chief Executive of Regen SW said:

"This year's Green Energy Award shortlist shows definite clusters of activity on renewable energy emerging in Cornwall, Devon, Bristol and Dorset. This is in part due to the existence of organisations or individuals in these areas who have a specific remit to facilitate renewable energy, and who have had an important role in stimulating innovative projects and new business activity.

"For the first time this year we are going to recognise the individuals who have done most to champion renewables on the ground - they are not household names, and often work behind the scenes, but we believe they deserve acclaim for their huge personal commitment and their success in delivering real solutions to climate change."
