RE4D was initially a two year project, funded to run from April 2006 to March 2008. At the end of March 08 we were in the difficult situation of having a project with lots of momentum but no future funding. Fortunately one of our existing funders, Government Office for the South West, was able to step in and offer us some gap funding.

So our current interim stage of funding will take us from April-July 08 and although we do not have any funding to offer capital grants the mentor support is continuing as normal and there is some limited funding for feasibility studies.

Since 1st July we have been able to expand to cover the whole of Devon (except Exeter, Plymouth and Torbay) with the amount of support offered dependent on final amount of funding received from Devon County Council and other funders. We are really pleased to be able to cover the other areas as we have previously received a lot of enquiries we've been unable to address. We are also working on securing funding for more feasibility studies and capital grants as this has been a key part of the success of the Phase 1 project so this will be updated as information is available.

We have also been putting efforts into a longer term solution, in conjunction with other South West partners in order to put together a new project that will offer the same service as we currently do but bigger and better. There are various options for funding this new venture but none of this is likely to come through until January 09.
